At age 26 I said good-bye to urban life, trading it for the peace and wide-open spaces of the Pennsylvania mountains where I fed people healthy food to pay the rent, and fed a hungry wood stove to keep warm. In my spare time, I authored a wellness column for a local newspaper, created and hosted the tv news segment Cooking for Health, taught nutrition and cooking classes for kids and adults, and filled pages of legal pads with scribbled articles, essays and stories.

I’m passionate about all aspects of health; physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual, as they are all connected. I’m a lover of the written word, great stories, nature, animals, and all things beautiful. I try to look for the joy in each day while navigating the delicate balance between growing older and staying active, curious, and young at heart. My toughest challenge and biggest goal is to sail through life’s often choppy waters with skill, humility, smiles, and laughter, and to age gracefully with loving-kindness, gratitude, and compassion in my heart.

Currently, I live in Virginia where I enjoy a quiet, simple life with my husband and our adorable rescue cat, Sunny.

After many years of writing and editing, I’ve finally published my memoir, Unexpected Awakening: 22 Days at a Buddhist Monastery Freed Me From Abuse. I’d love to share my story with you!

Drop me a line. I’d Love to Hear from You!
